The iconic Granddaddy Purple flavour profile puts all its emphasis on its bright berry citrus notes which shine in a herbal kush crust.

The Granddaddy Purple strain was (at one point) the most sought after strain in Hollywood. All those stressed people needing some good sleep!

The effects of Granddaddy Purple hit both body and mind with a little bit of a hazy euphoria. This quickly melts into a smooth body buzz that is common with other powerful Indica’s.

Like every other purp, the Grandaddy Purple strain will be ideal for an evening in on the couch. While the strain isn’t as potent as a glue, it will still be sticky.

Benefits of Granddaddy Purple

  • Reduction in Nausea
  • Increased Quality Sleep
  • Great for Insomnia
  • Reduction in Anxiety

Of all heavy indica’s, the Granddaddy Purple (aka Grandad Purp is certainly one of the finest.

The strain was said to be produced by Ken Estes in San Francisco’s Bay Area way back in 2003. They set out to produce (what they expected to be) the perfect Indica hybrid by merging Big Bird and Purple Urkle.

Other than being a very sought after indica for those in need of a great nights sleep, the buds are famously beautiful.

Created back in 2003 by Ken Estes in the San Francisco Bay Area, Ken and his team sought out to create the ultimate Indica hybrid by merging two strains with fantastic genetics – Purple Urkle and Big Bud. The product of these two, Grand Daddy Purple, is a spitting image of it’s parents’ two best qualities – the deep and dark purple hue from Purple Urkle and the overgrown, dense buds of Big Bud. The dark purple buds blend well with the bright orange hairs and frosted white trichomes that generously cover the bud making it an extremely photogenic strain.

The first thing you’ll notice from the buds of GDP is their size – then you’ll see the purple.

Famously, the appearance of this strain makes it one of the most photographed cannabis strains on earth, and if you manage to score some, you’ll be amazed at how beaututful they are.

Other than being giant, the buds are often purple in colour with a splash of green and burning orange pistils. The buds are smathered in a milky layer of THC trichomes which add the potency, but a beautiful shimmer.
