Wedding Cake strain Aroma & Flavours

The Wedding Cake strain is a true European classic. Even with its abundance, it is still a sought after strain.

The classic Wedding Cake strain aroma is famous for it sweet citrus top notes (some suggest summer fruits), sweet creamy smoke, and a herbal peppery kick on the exhale. Some may suggest a sandalwood dry woody base which lifts the fruit flavours into the atmosphere.

The delicate creamy sweetness is what inspired the strain’s name.

If you have some Wedding Cake, you’re ready for a party. A nice, chilled party anyway.

The Wedding Cake strain has a very interesting mix of effects. While it is technically an Indica leaning strain, it’s hybrid nature gives it some very powerful sativa-esk headiness.

The high gets going right away. It is a heady, giggly and euphoric experience which can make way for enjoyable conversations, being creative or energising mundane tasks.  The rush can be very strong and disorientating for new users.

Just as you think the heady-high won’t stop, it busts into a melting body high that lowers your shoulders and eases your mind.

The elements of heady euphoria are still present, but the intensity is long gone.

This strain is a fantastic one for an outdoor gathering, celebration or relaxing by a campfire with friends.

The strain of many names, Wedding Cake has also been called Pink Cookies, Birthday Cake and is referred to as a phenotype of Triangle Mints. We just like to follow the popular consensus and call it Wedding Cake.

The strain rose to fame in Coffee shops around the Netherlands thanks to its extremely high THC content, and euphoric yet relaxing high.

It came about when Barney’s Farm crossed Cherry Pie and Girl Scout Cookies – two already extremely famous and popular strains.

If you manage to score a genuine g of the famous Wedding Cake strain then you’re in luck. The buds should be big and colourful; with green, browns, oranges and a thick milky layering of THC trichomes.

The stickiness of the buds correlates with the content of THC – there is so much of it that it seeps out like dream-sap.

If you break the buds you will be instantly met with the citrus high notes but an overpowering dank herbal aroma. Like moss.
